Jeffrey S. Brottman, M.D., FACS
Dr. Brottman practices medical and surgical ophthalmology. He performs
no-stitch cataract surgery with lens implantation, micro surgical eye
care, and laser surgery. Dr. Brottman also performs general eye exams
and prescribes glasses for adults and children.
A native of New Jersey, Dr. Brottman was educated at Colgate
University, where he graduated summa cum laude and a member of the Phi
Beta Kappa Society. He received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai
School of Medicine and completed an internship at Beth Israel Medical
Center in New York City. Dr. Brottman completed a residency in
ophthalmology at the University of Rochester in New York state.
Dr. Brottman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology,
and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a member of
the Department of Ophthalmology at CentraState Medical Center.
Dr. Brottman currently resides in Freehold with his wife Shelly.
Elliot S. Grand, M.D., FACS
Dr.
Grand is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has advanced training in
cataract surgery and the medical and surgical management of glaucoma. He practices medical ophthalmology.
Dr. Grand graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania
and New York’s Downstate Medical Center. He continued his medical
education at Staten Island Hospital, where he was an intern in internal
medicine, and at Downstate Medical Center as a resident in
ophthalmology. He was awarded a fellowship in glaucoma at the New York
Eye and Ear Infirmary.
During his fellowship, Dr. Grand was a principal investigator in
research projects on glaucoma and presented lectures on the subject at
professional meetings and seminars.
Dr. Grand was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, a national medical honor
society, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is
certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow in the
American College of Surgeons. Dr. Grand is on the attending staff at
CentraState Medical Center.
Dr. Grand, his wife Carol, and four children reside in Lincroft, New Jersey.
Roman G. Kernitsky, M.D., FACS
Dr.
Kernitsky is a board-certified ophthalmologist, who practices medical
ophthalmology.
A cum laude graduate of Columbia University and New York University
School of Medicine, Dr. Kernitsky completed an internship at the State
University of New York Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, and an
ophthalmology residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center, Bronx, NY. He
also served as a lieutenant commander with the U.S. Public Health
Service and was assigned to Herman Kiefer Hospital, Detroit.
Dr. Kernitsky is an assistant clinical professor of surgery at the
Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and has published articles in his
field in the American Journal of Ophthalmology. He is a Fellow of the
American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons
and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Kernitsky is a member of the attending staff at CentraState
Medical Center. He is available to see patients in Freehold, East Windsor and Brick.
Dr. Kernitsky is married to Lydia Kernitsky, who is a dentist. Dr.
and Mrs. Kernitsky have been residents of Colts Neck for the past 30
years, and Dr. Kernitsky has been a member of the Lions Club for over 20
years.
David K. Lee, M.D., FACS
Dr. Lee is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical
and surgical management of glaucoma, in addition to cataract surgery.
Dr. Lee earned his undergraduate degree from the University of
Michigan. Following graduation, Dr. Lee earned his Master of Science
from the UMDNJ-Graduate School of Biomedical Science. He received his
medical degree from UMDNJ and completed his internship at Lehigh Valley
Hospital in Allentown, PA. Dr. Lee attended the State University of New
York at Buffalo for his ophthalmology residency and then pursued
fellowship training in glaucoma at the University of Wisconsin in
Madison. Dr. Lee is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and
is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also an
attending physician on the medical staff at CentraState Medical Center.
Dr. Lee enjoys saltwater fishing. He grew up in New Jersey and lives
in Jackson with his wife, Jennifer. He is available to see patients in
Freehold, Monroe, Jackson and East Windsor.
Steven K. Mishkin, M.D., FACS, FRCS (C)
Dr.
Mishkin is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in
oculoplastic surgery, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids
and the tissues surrounding the eyes, in addition to cataract surgery.
A native of Canada, he was educated at McGill University where he
graduated with first class honors in physics. He received his medical
degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his
internship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Montreal and residency in
ophthalmology at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein in the Bronx.
He then pursued fellowship training in oculoplastic surgery at the
University of Toronto.
Dr. Mishkin is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and
a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American College of
Surgeons, and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. He is a member of
the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology and Alpha Omega Alpha, a
national honor medical society.
Dr. Mishkin is a member of the American Society for Cataract and
Refractive Surgery, as well as a clinical assistant professor of surgery
at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. As the
managing partner of Millennium Eye Care, he is also a member of the
American College of Physician Executives.
Dr. Mishkin is the Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at
CentraState Medical Center after having served for 2 years as the Chief
of the Medical Staff. Dr. Mishkin served as a member of the Board of
Trustees of the CentraState Healthcare System for 11 years.
Dr. Mishkin lives in Marlboro with his wife, Daphne. Active in his
community, Dr. Mishkin served on the Board of Education of the Freehold
Regional High School District from 1999 to 2002.
Elena M. Ng, M.D.
Dr. Ng is a board-certified ophthalmologist, who had advanced
training in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal and vitreous
disorders.
A summa cum laude graduate of Brooklyn College of Pharmacy, she
received her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
After an internship and residency in ophthalmology at St. Vincent’s
Hospital Medical Center, New York, she won a fellowship to the Edward
Harkness Eye Institute at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New
York City, where she concentrated on retinal and vitreous diseases.
Originally from New York, Dr. Ng has been with the practice since
1988. She has experience in management and treatment of diabetic
retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal detachments, retinal vascular
disorders, as well as other retinal and vitreous diseases.
Dr. Ng is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a
member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical
Women’s Association, New Jersey Retina Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha, a
national medical honor society. Dr. Ng served as Chair of the
Department of Ophthalmology at CentraState Medical Center in 2007 and
2008.
Jasmeeta P. Patel, M.D.
Dr. Jasmeeta Patel is a board-certified comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmologist who performs routine eye care as well as treats many ocular conditions. She is a surgeon who performs small incision no-stitch cataract surgery as well as laser procedures to treat glaucoma. She has experience in implanting a multitude of intraocular lenses, including monofocal, toric (astigmatism correcting), and multifocal (presbyopia correcting) intraocular lens implants.
Dr. Patel graduated Summa Cum Laude from Temple University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Healthcare Systems Management. She went on to obtain her Doctor of Medicine degree at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She completed her preliminary year in Internal Medicine at Lankenau Hospital and ophthalmology residency at Temple University Hospital. Throughout her training, Dr. Patel has completed multiple publications in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Dr. Patel is an attending physician who is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and on the medical staff at CentraState Medical Center. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, and American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery
Dr. Patel is from the Tri-State region, having grown up in Pennsylvania. She currently resides in New Jersey with her husband but is still an avid Philadelphia sports fan!
Martin S. Schneider, M.D., FACS
Dr. Schneider is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in
diseases of the cornea, dry eyes, and small incision cataract surgery.
A magna cum laude graduate of Yeshiva University, he earned his
medical degree at Albert Einstein School of Medicine, New York. He
completed an internship in internal medicine at Brookdale Hospital in
Brooklyn and a residency in ophthalmology at Wayne State University,
Detroit Medical Center, serving as chief resident. He pursued his
studies in corneal and external eye diseases as a fellow at Detroit’s
Kresge Eye Institute.
Dr. Schneider is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and
is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American
College of Surgeons. He is a clinical assistant professor in the
department of surgery at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He is
also an attending physician of the medical staff at CentraState Medical
Center.
Dr. Schneider grew up in New Jersey and lives locally with his wife and children.
